Note:  We are using the name "Linder Cemetery" to be consistent
with the well-known book "High on a Windy Hill" by Catherine Sanders McConnell.
Each person noted in Linder Cemetery in this book is listed below.
If we were able to find their tombstone, there is an icon
to the right of their name.

Directions:  From Abingdon, Virginia go northwest approximately 5 miles
on Highway 19 to Rich Valley Road/700, then turn left (west) and go
approximately 3.3 miles to Smith Creek Road.
Turn right on Smith Creek Road and follow it as it meanders north,
then west, approximately 5.8 miles.
The cemetery is east side of the road - next to an old barn.

Coordinates: N 36.743600  W 82.179131

This small, rural cemetery is comprised of approximately 25 tombstones.
Located next to an old barn, it was completely overgrown in June of 2007.
At that time, the only way to access any of the stones was with tenacity and a machete.
In October 2007, the land was cleared and there was full access to the entire cemetery.
See here for a "before" and "after" of one select marker.
